News / Up Helly Aa: the final count down
THE 2013 Lerwick Up Helly Aa’s final mass meeting was held at the Anderson High School on Tuesday night.
A great turn out of guizers filled the hall to hear the final briefing on the big day next week.
Ex-jarl Stanley Manson led the singing practice, while chief marshall David Nicolson gave the last instructions for Up Helly Aa night.
This year’s jarl Stephen Grant made his speech thanking the Up Helly Aa committee for all the hard work building up for his big day and also thanking guizers for their support.
