Energy / Planning consent given for 100m wind farm meteorological mast in Yell
PLANNING permission has been granted for a 100 metre meteorological mast in Yell which would provide data for the proposed Energy Isles wind farm.
The mast would be located within the proposed wind farm site, and could be in place for three years.
It would be capable of measuring wind conditions, including speed, direction, pressure and temperature, and this data would inform turbine specification.
Approval for the 18-turbine Energy Isles wind farm, which is being developed by Norwegian firm Statkraft, remains under consideration by the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit.
