Community / Hardy swimmers take Christmas Eve dip in Lerwick
A GROUP of hardy swimmers braved the elements and took a dip in the water at Bain’s Beach in Lerwick this morning.
Photographer John Coutts was on hand to grab snaps of the swimmers, with some donning festive headgear to get into the Christmas spirit.
The dip was organised by Shona Manson, who is doing a ’52 swim’ challenge, raising money for Children in Need.
She said she has been joined by “so many folk” for her swims and added that while this is such an important fundraiser the mental health and wellbeing benefits are not to be underestimated.
