A WOMAN was taken to hospital in Lerwick with minor injuries after her car left the road and landed on its roof in a ditch on the main A970 about a mile south of Voe at just before 7pm on Hogmanay.

Police said they were also making enquiries into a number of minor offences that occurred over recent days.

A small white crofthouse planter was taken from a property next to the A970 at Quarff on Wednesday at about 11.15am.

Damage was caused to the lock of a garage on Anderson Road, in Lerwick, sometime overnight from 1 to 2 January.

And the wing mirror of a black Kia Rio, parked on Haldane Burgess Crescent, in Lerwick, was damaged sometime between 4.30am and 3pm on 1 January.

Anyone able to help police with their enquiries into any of these incidents is asked to contact Lerwick police station on telephone 101.
