Road closed in Burra after crash

POLICE have closed the road in Burra near the Bridge End Outdoor Centre after a vehicle went down an embankment.

Police said this morning (Friday) that the road was closed in both directions as a result, with enquiries being carried out.

Drivers were requested to avoid the area for the time being. The fire service said it was called out last night at 9.45pm, leaving the scene two hours later.

As of 1pm the road remains closed, and there has been no formal update yet from the police.
