Police / Man dies after one-vehicle crash in Burra
POLICE say an 83-year-old man has died following a fatal crash at Bridge End in Burra.
Police were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a silver Toyota Avensis at around 8.50pm on Thursday (2 April).
Emergency services attended and the 83-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigation work to be carried out and reopened around 5.40pm on Friday.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage, to contact us.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3502 of 2 April, 2026.”
