Missing teenager traced safely by police

A MISSING teenage girl has been traced in Shetland this morning (Thursday).

A widely shared social media post on Facebook reported that the S3 pupil had not returned home after school on Wednesday night.

Police in Shetland said they were aware of the reports and were carrying out initial enquiries to trace the girl.

She was traced at around 10am this morning, with her mother writing on Facebook that the police had been contacted by a member of the public who knew of her whereabouts.

The woman wrote that it was “such a relief” that their daughter had now been found.
