News / Motors go on show
CAR dealers and associated businesses are gearing up for the 2015 Shetland Motor Show at Clickimin this weekend.
The motor show is organised by the Rotary Club of Shetland and has been a fixture in the club’s fundraising calendar for over 20 years.
Local car dealers and businesses have the opportunity to show off new additions to their car ranges, while the public can browse all that’s on offer under one roof. Exhibitors include Hillside Motors, J. Burgess, Leask Motors and Jim’s Garage.
Rotary club president Andrew Archer said: “The dealers and exhibitors put a huge amount of effort and money into the show, bringing up extra vehicles and creating exciting displays. Without their support the show would not be possible.”
The biennial motor show is one of the Rotary Club’s biggest fundraisers, with all funds raised going to local, national and international charities. Archer said the Shetland public’s generosity in supporting such events ensured the club could make donations to projects and organisations locally and further afield.
- The show at Clickimin is open from 10am-5pm on Saturday 25 April and from 10am-4pm on Sunday 26 April. Entrance costs £4 and children under the age of 14 are free, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
