News / Busy summer ahead
LOGANAIR has announced it will be stepping up its schedule for the whole of next summer to cater for growing demand.
Traffic is getting so busy at Sumburgh airport that the Flybe franchise operator is preparing for 2014 by offering five flights every weekday between the islands and Aberdeen, three to and from Edinburgh and extra Glasgow flights on Monday and Friday.
The airline said that earlybirds can already book flights up to 9 September 2014, with further flights to be made available in early December.
Chief operating officer Phil Preston said: “Scotland will be in focus in 2014 with the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Homecoming and the Ryder Cup.
“We hope our network of routes will encourage tourists to extend their visit to include a trip to Shetland, as well as giving island residents the opportunity to fly south and enjoy the many different events taking place on the mainland.”
Flights are available online at flybe.com/ads or via telephone on 0844 800 2855
