News / Maddrim’s 24 hour challenge
THERE is the chance to become a movie star this lunchtime (Friday), when Maddrim Media shoots a short film that is due to be shown later at tonight’s screening of the Exorcist, in Mareel.
On Thursday night, following the screening of Home Made, part of the Screenplay film festival, the young film makers challenged the audience to provide them with a setting, a line and a prop all to be included in film to be conceived, written, filmed and edited in just 24 hours.
Filming is taking place right now at the King George V park, in Lerwick. The team has also been given the challenge to include a bottle of beer and the famous line: “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
A spokeswoman said: ”Through the rest of the day we implore people to get involved and come on down to the park between the hours of 11am and 2pm, when the majority of our filming will be taking place!
“A crowd scene is required and every body helps! Bored at lunchtime? Become a movie star!”
She added: “Whilst a film about someone with a beer bottle quoting the moon landing in the King Harold Street park might not sound very challenging or exciting, we can assure you that the imaginations of the group have been in overdrive and they have conceived a film on a scale not even we are sure we’ll be able to complete on time!”
