Letters / Bad driving
I agree that speeding, sometimes even beyond motorway limits, contributes to many fears (Tresta race track; SN, 1/09/13)
Motor racing on television gives the impression to youngsters that they can go out and do the same without caring for oncoming traffic, animals or pedestrians.
Racing to the Tesco roundabout along Lochside is bad enough of the ‘me first’ brigade.
Bad driving on country roads also includes slow driving for miles, not looking in mirrors at extensive tailbacks, not using courtesy signal to allow safe overtaking, pulling out of junctions too soon.
Bad driving in town includes crossing the white line in the face of traffic.
Driving in fog is another concern as many drivers think they don’t need fog lights or any lights.
