News / Sick oil worker
SHETLAND coastguard’s Rescue 102 helicopter flew out to the semi-submersible drilling rig Transocean John Shaw to collect a sick crewman and fly him back to Lerwick to attend hospital at the weekend.
The drilling operation is being run by TAQA Bratani on behalf of six partner companies to complete the drilling of the Timon prospect in the northern North Sea 12 miles north east of Sumburgh.
The helicopter left Sumburgh at 11pm on Saturday night and flew the man safely to Lerwick in the early hours of Sunday morning.
