Letters / Surplus workforce
Yet again we see the council make huge cuts to the services it provides – more cherry picking.
No more Viking bus station, five rural public toilets to be removed off the books and they have just agreed to cut the development budget by over 50 per cent.
This is on top of our first class education service which they plan to slash by 30 per cent.
When RBS faced melt down they took another route, they laid off approximately 36,000 people yet they offer the same services to their customers.
Now if the council are slashing the development budget by 50 per cent, surely this must mean they will have a surplus workforce in that department.
The council continues to ignore the fundamental problem of having over double the required work force to administrate 22,000 people.
Out of date, in over their heads and won’t tackle the real problems that face our local authority.
Shame on the lot of you.
