Letters / Get off the fence
Another disease outbreak thanks to Scottish Sea Farms…and what is their response? To inform us of the dent inflicted upon their profit margin!
So much for all the hype put about by the idiotic suits as to how wrasse are the new wonder cure for increased sea lice problems.
It’s high time that the salmon farming industry in Scotland was brought to task for all the filth for which it’s responsible, spreading diseases, excrement and toxins wherever they park themselves in our precious waters.
They’ve got away with their greedy, patronising, bloody minded attitude for far too long.
The evidence pointing to their negative impacts is overwhelming. Three kilos of wild fish to produce one kilo of farmed salmon is insane and immoral.
It’s time for Highlanders and Islanders to get off the fence on this issue before our waters reach the same diseased status as many have already reached in Norway and Canada.
Open net salmon farms can no longer be tolerated.
