News / Two men arrested following break-in
TWO MEN are in police custody this morning (Monday) after being arrested for breaking into the Staney Hill shop with the intend to steal, late on Saturday evening.
Police in Lerwick said on Monday that the pair had also been reported to the procurator fiscal for theft from the rear of the Co-op supermarket.
In other incidents from the weekend police are making enquiries following the theft of an iPhone from the female changing area of the Clickimin Leisure Centre, on Sunday at about 6pm.
Officers are also investigating the alleged assault of two people, a man and a woman, at Posers nightclub at some time before 3am on Sunday morning.
Enquiries are also ongoing following an incident whereby a woman assaulted a man outside the Freefield Pharmacy, at just before 5pm on Friday afternoon.
Finally, a window of the Intersport shop on Commercial Street was smashed at some time overnight from Friday to Saturday.
Police said that anyone with any information on the above incidents should contact them at the Lerwick police station on 01595 69 2110.
