News / Bad hair day man bailed
A SHETLAND man who became agitated and abusive while receiving a haircut in a Lerwick salon had sentence deferred when he appeared from custody before the town’s Sheriff Court, on Monday.
Owen Finbar Haughian, of 61a Burgh Road, Lerwick, pled guilty to breaching the peace by behaving in an abusive manner and shouting ‘paki faggot’ while being served in the Eclipse Hair Studio, on Friday afternoon.
The 28 year old also pled guilty to destroying property belonging to others when he smashed a display stand with hair care products.
Sentence was deferred for a social enquiry report. Haughian was released on bail and was told to appear again before the court on Thursday.
In another case before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday, 59 year old Stuart Robertson, of Highbury Hus, Bridge End, Burra, pled guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at his home address, on Sunday evening
Appearing from custody before Sheriff Graeme Napier he pled guilty to the charge.
Sentence was deferred until 21 September for reports, and Robertson was released on bail.
