Energy / Hundreds of homes lose power in Gulberwick area

AROUND 365 homes were left without electricity this afternoon (Thursday) after a power cut in and around Gulberwick.

SSEN Transmission said the fault was reported at around 3.40pm, with power restored at tea-time.

The energy company said it was an “unplanned” outage, which had been caused by a fault with the overhead network.

It comes after a new transformer was installed on the overhead power network in Sandwick earlier this week following a number of power cuts.
