Weather / Snow and ice warning

THE MET Office has issued a weather warning for snow and ice for the north of Scotland – including Shetland – next week.

The warning covers the whole of Monday and Tuesday.

Gulberwick Weather said in an update on Facebook on Thursday that there could be a “real return to winter with bitterly cold temperatures and the possibility of a fair bit of snow”.

Shetland was significant affected by snow in January and December, with schools closing over a number of days and power supplies disrupted.
