Transport / Loganair offers passengers chance to rebook flights for free as wind picks up
LOGANAIR says it is offering passengers booked to fly to or from Shetland between Wednesday and Friday the chance to adjust their travel plans free of charge due to the windy weather.
The airline said it plans to fly all of its scheduled services, and it has standby aircraft and crews in place to help recover any disrupted services once weather conditions permit.
However, people can re-book on an alternative flight up to seven days from their original travel date at no extra cost.
In a statement issued on Tuesday Loganair said: “If you choose to remain with your original travel plans, please rest assured that we will do everything we can to safely fly you to your intended destination as close to the scheduled time as possible.”
The weather has already seen NorthLink cancel all of today’s (Tuesday) passenger and freight sailings between Shetland and Aberdeen.
Sailings on Wednesday are also under review with a high probability of cancellation.
