Community / Santa comes to town as winter parade lights up Lerwick
THERE was something of a party atmosphere in the centre of Lerwick on Saturday afternoon as the annual winter parade returned after last year’s event was cancelled.
Santa arrived into Victoria Pier on board the town’s lifeboat before touring through Commercial Street as part of the Living Lerwick shindig.
He was followed by plenty of bairns, the local brass band and some Vikings – as well as Shetland ponies and a goat.
It culminated in the Christmas tree being lit up at the Market Cross.
