Police / Drivers asked to be mindful of parking restrictions in centre of Lerwick
POLICE say they will be undertaking regular patrols of Commercial Street in Lerwick as well as the Market Cross to look for any parking offences.
Local police said they are asking drivers to be “mindful” of the parking restrictions in the area.
Vehicles are not allowed to be driven on Commercial Street between the Market Cross and the Fort chip shop between 11.30am and 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
The road between Church Road and the Market Cross, where the RBS is located, is open for access-only traffic. There are also some disabled parking spaces outside the bank.
Blue badge holders are exempt from these restrictions.
