Emergency services / Woman found safe and well after search
AN 84-YEAR-OLD local woman was found safe and well following a search in the Virkie area late on Sunday afternoon.
The Sumburgh based search and rescue 900 helicopter, voluntary coastguard teams from Sumburgh, Lerwick and Walls as well as police and the fire service were all alerted to the incident.
A spokesman for the Lerwick Coastguard station said emergency services were alerted at 5pm.
The incident was over by twenty to seven after the woman was found safe and well and handed over into the care of the police.
