Coastguard attend small fishing boat aground in Lerwick
COASTGUARD rescue officers have attended to a small fishing boat which ran aground in Lerwick Harbour early this morning.
Firecrest TT46 was pictured close in to shore in the early hours of the morning, with coastguard, police and the Lerwick lifeboat all attending.
The coastguard said its Lerwick coastal rescue team were still on the scene, at Bain’s beach, as of 8am.
They were called to the stricken boat at 2.20am, with the Lerwick lifeboat also attending. Police and the Lerwick Port Authority were informed.
The Lerwick lifeboat has since been stood down.
All of the crew are believed to be okay following the incident.
