Transport / Stand-in ferry breaks down on Yell Sound route
THE YELL Sound ferry service has been reduced to a single vessel after the stand-in boat Fivla broke down on Tuesday morning.
The relief vessel is standing in for the usual Yell ferry Dagalien, which is undergoing planned maintenance on her propulsion systems.
The Fivla encountered problems earlier on Tuesday morning before the service resumed to a normal timetable, but the route was reduced to a single vessel again shortly before 1pm.
The Fivla is set to be taken out of service after lunchtime, with bookings suspended. The Yell ferry Daggri will operate to a shift timetable.
The vessel had also recently been deployed on the Bressay service after the Leirna picked up a technical problem.
