‘Remarkable turnout’ at Lunnasting vegetable show

THE LUNNASTING vegetable show and Sunday teas proved busy at the weekend, with around 80 entries in total.

Sisters Jean Robertson and Nan Mort supported the charity event at the Vidlin Hall on Sunday by judging the entries to the show.

Funds raised from the event will go to the Lunna Kirk Preservation Group.

Organisers said there was a “fantastic mix” of entries at a high standard.

Lots of creativity and imagination could also be seen in the bairn’s vegetable creations and decorated eggs, they said.

James Johnson of Vidlin won the star raffle prize which was a large food hamper.

Emma Grains of the Lunna Kirk Preservation Group committee said: “There was a remarkable turnout to our Lunnasting Vegetable Show and Teas on Sunday.

“We are incredibly grateful and wish to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this charity fundraising event which helped raised important funds towards the upkeep and running costs of the Lunna Kirk.”

Back in 2024 the community group took on the Lunna Kirk from the Church of Scotland.
