Transport / NorthLink warns of weather-related delays

GALE force south westerly winds forecast for tomorrow (Friday) are set to have an impact on NorthLink’s passenger and cargo services.

The Hjaltland’s soundbound sailing on Friday afternoon (5.30pm departure) may be two hours late into Kirkwall and Aberdeen, the company has warned.

Her sister vessel Hrossey, northbound sailing from Aberdeen to Lerwick could meanwhile be delayed in arriving in Shetland on Saturday morning.

The cargo vessel Hildasay, scheduled to leave Lerwick for Aberdeen at 6pm on Friday is currently under review with a high probability of cancellation while the northbound sailing of the Helliar is under review.
