SHETLAND Amenity Trust’s reorganisation of its management structure should help to provide a “clear focus” on all aspects of its business, according to chief executive Mat Roberts.
The culture and heritage organisation announced on Monday a number of internal appointments as part of a wide-ranging reshuffle.
Tracey Leslie has been given the role of head of business services, Davy Cooper is head of development and Adam Johnson has been appointed to the role of head of operations.
Catrina Carter will be the executive assistant to the leadership team, with staff taking up the newly-created roles from 6 August.
Interviews for the head of engagement position will only be completed in mid-August because one of the candidates is on annual leave.
The restructuring exercise was carried out following the appointment of Roberts last year at a time when the trust needed to cut its costs.
“I think the new leadership team provides a clear focus on the various areas of the business that we need to concentrate our efforts on,” he said.
“There is a clear focus on operations, and a clear focus on business development, where we can look at running the projects that we currently undertake and the projects that we may wish to deliver in the future,” he said.
“The engagement post is making sure that we understand the aspirations and the requirements of all our stakeholders – the community of Shetland, our funders and the regulators.
“And obviously business support means that we keep an eye on our finances, the human resources.
“The new structure is about making sure that we have a leadership team that has very clear responsibilities for our various different requirements going forward.”
