POLICE caught one drink driver and three motorists speeding in various parts of Shetland over the weekend.
A 43 year old man was arrested and provided a positive breath specimen shortly before midnight on Saturday at the “Halfway House” on the A970 road between Lerwick and Brae. A report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
One driver is to be reported to the procurator fiscal after being clocked travelling at a speed of 89mph in a 60mph zone at Fladdabister early on Sunday afternoon.
Two other drivers were issued with fixed penalty notices. One was detected driving at 75mph in a 60mph zone near Ladies Drive, Lerwick at 9.45pm on Saturday. The other was detected travelling at 83mph in a 60mph zone at Fladdabister at around 1pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile three men were issued with antisocial behaviour fixed penalties after being detected urinating in public in the centre of Lerwick.
