SHETLAND Recreational Trust is to be allowed to hold on to just over £60,000 in grant funding to help pay for a new £80,000 lift at Clickimin Leisure Complex, which is required under disability access laws.
Shetland Charitable Trust decided on Thursday that the recreational trust did not have to pay back the money, which is a surplus from its annual grant worth £2.58 million.
The installation of a lift has become necessary for the recreational trust to continue to fulfil its duties as a services provider and employer under the Disability Discrimination Act, SCT heard.
