News / Oil workers evacuated
TAQA Bratani airlifted 134 oil workers from the North Cormorant oil platform 100 miles north east of Shetland after diesel was found in the drinking water on Sunday.
Ten helicopters flew all non essential staff to Scatsta airport and the neighbouring Eider platform on Monday.
The 54 remaining staff have been supplied with bottled water and microwave meals to reduce the amount of dishes that have to be washed.
A company spokeswoman said no one had consumed the contaminated water, and they were flushing and cleaning the fresh water system to ensure there was no diesel left in the system.
