News / Dance event of the year

ONE of the world’s best known DJs travels north later this month as an early Halloween treat for dance fans in the isles.

Radio One legend Dave Pearce will bring his ‘Dance Anthems’ night to Aith public hall on Saturday 30 October.

Pearce is one of the world’s most in demand DJs, known for his euphoric style of uplifting trance and hard dance, with the odd trademark anthem thrown in for good measure.

His Trance Anthems 2009 was the biggest selling dance album of last year, followed up by a sell-out UK tour.

Pearce will always be best known for his Dance Anthems show on Radio One, which was one of the most popular shows on the station during its 11 year run and made Dave Pearce a household name.

This will be his second trip to Shetland after playing the North Star in 2006, an occasion blighted with bad weather when heavy snow all but stopped movement within the isles.

Pearce himself was lucky to make it back to the BBC in London within seconds of his show taking to the air.

A spokesperson for promoters Klub Revolution said: “We’re delighted to attract a DJ of Dave Pearce’s calibre to Shetland for what we hope will be the dance event of the year up here.”

Tickets go on sale from High Level Music from Saturday priced at £13 each. The event is strictly for over 16s only.
