Fundraiser launched to help family support young daughter’s cancer journey
A FUNDRAISER has been launched to support the family of a brave 22-month old girl who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
Rosie Robertson has recently been diagnosed with a Bilateral Wilms tumour in both of her kidneys, a conditions which affects less than 10 per cent of children affected by Wilms tumours.
She has now begun her treatment in Aberdeen, and is expected to be there for a considerable time.
That led Alan Page to start a fundraiser to support Rosie’s parents, Jamie and Bethany, who will have to be at her bedside throughout the process.
“As Jamie is self-employed, the family are facing not only the emotional challenges of Rosie’s diagnosis and treatment, but also the financial pressures that come with spending extended periods away from home and work,” he said.
“I’ve set up this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden and allow Jamie and Bethany to focus on what matters most – being there for Rosie every step of the way.
“Any donation, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards supporting the family during this incredibly difficult time.”
The fundraiser has seen a massive response since being launched this morning (Thursday), with over £6,000 raised as of 2.40pm.
A new target of £9,000 has been set after the previous £5,500 target was smashed.
