More folk sought for Lerwick’s summer carnival
THE ORGANISERS of the annual Lerwick Summer Carnival are looking for more participants to come forward to make the event a success.
They are also looking for stewards and foot collectors to volunteer.
The carnival returns on Saturday 27 June and raises funds for the Callum Younger Reach Fund, which supports young people in Shetland.
Organiser Malcolm Younger said: “Whether you’re a business, club, group of friends, charity, school or just fancy dressing up and joining the fun, we’d love to see you take part.
“The carnival is always one of the highlights of the summer in Lerwick, bringing colour, music, laughter and community spirit to the streets — but we need more people to get involved to make it a real success.
“If you would like to register a float, volunteer as a steward, or take part as a foot collector, please send a text message to 07545 628931.”
