News / Midsummer carnival livens up Lerwick
HUNDREDS of people lined the streets of Lerwick on Saturday evening to watch the annual Midsummer Carnival.
All money raised at the event goes to the Callum Younger Reach Fund.
In typical style there was a host of colourful participants, from various jarl squads, emergency services and a Year of Young People float to Princess Leia and her Star Wars pals driving around town on trikes, as well as an LGBTQ float.
A Mary Poppins chimney sweep themed entry was named the winning float.
