Woman airlifted after suffering leg injury on cruise visit to Mousa
A VISITOR to the island of Mousa was airlifted to Lerwick this morning (Wednesday) after suffering a leg injury.
A spokesperson for the HM Coastguard said the alarm was raised at around 11am.
They said a 74-year-old female had sustained a leg injury while on a cruise ship visit to the uninhabited island of Mousa.
The person was cared for by the vessel’s doctor before a coastguard search and rescue helicopter airlifted the casualty to Lerwick for onward medical care.
Mousa is particularly well known for its Iron Age broch.
