News / Creel boat towed in
LERWICK lifeboat was tasked while out on exercise on Tuesday night to assist a small creel boat with one person on board.
The 32ft Hope had broken down south of Mousa and was drifting in near gale force southeasterly winds.
The lifeboat towed the Hope to Grutness pier where they were alongside at around 10.45pm, three hours after the initial call out.
The voluntary coastguard team from Sumburgh was also called out to keep an eye on the drifting creel boat from the shore.
The NorthLink ferry Hrossey, which had just left Lerwick on her overnight passage to Aberdeen, also kept a close watch on the situation.
