Emergency services / Fire fighters tackle car on fire

EMERGENCY services were called to a car on fire on the main road through Cunningsburgh on Sunday evening.

Scottish Fire and Rescue said appliances from Sandwick and Lerwick were called out at quarter past seven.

The fire was extinguished by 8pm and the incident was handed over to the police.

There was no one in the vehicle Traffic was diverted via the village’s single track roads.
