Fire service warns of Pitt Lane breathing apparatus training
PEOPLE have been advised that there will be firefighter training taking place at Lerwick’s Pitt Lane over the coming days.
Crews will be carrying out breathing apparatus (BA) training between 7pm and 9.30pm on Tuesdays 8 and 15 September.
The Lerwick station said folk may see firefighters in BA, emergency service vehicles and synthetic training smoke in the area.
They have requested that people do not cross any cordons or enter the training area while the exercise is underway.
“Training in real buildings and environments is extremely valuable to our crews, allowing us to practise the skills and procedures we rely on during real incidents,” the Lerwick station said in a post on social media.
Meanwhile the Lerwick crew will also be hosting a charity fundraising car wash at the station on Saturday 19 September.
