News / Police seize controlled drugs worth £18,000
POLICE have given further details of a recovery of drugs in Lerwick worth £18,000.
A police spokesperson said that heroin, cocaine and cannabis was seized on Wednesday last week with the assistance of Dogs Against Drugs.
Police said enquiries were ongoing but they did not reveal if the drugs were seized in one or several separate operations.
Meanwhile members of Lerwick Community Council expressed their displeasure that no police officer was available to attend last night’s (Monday) meeting to explain the latest crime figures for the isles.
The bi-monthly report lists the number of incidents police dealt with in every parish but gives little context and background as to trends and the type of offence officers are attending.
