Arts / Giant swing set to form part of playpark event
SHETLAND is working with an Edinburgh based dance theatre company to bring a five metre high giant swing set, two swings, two aerial performers and a sound installation to the George V Playpark in Lerwick at the end of the month.
People are asked to “come and enter the world of The Swings” between Saturday 26 and Tuesday 29 June.
Folk can watch as All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre aerialists swing, climb, play and perform, while the public will also get a chance to have a go on the swings.
Shetland Arts said it is an interactive event for all the family and includes accessible swings.
Bookings for a turn on the swings will be available through the Shetland Arts website, while visitors are also very welcome to turn up on the day and have a go.
Performances will take place daily at 12pm, 1pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm, lasting for 15 minutes. After each performance, the swings are open to the public.
The accessible booking slots are available from 12.20pm to 12.40pm each day and have to be booked via Shetland Arts.
Tickets will be bookable soon at shetlandarts.org, or by calling the box office on 01595 745 500 (Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-10pm). This event will be run in accordance with current Covid guidance.
