Coronavirus / Another Covid death confirmed
ANOTHER death of a person who had confirmed Covid has been registered in Shetland.
The news was included in today’s (Friday) coronavirus update from Public Health Scotland.
The data shows that the death was registered on Wednesday (20 January). It is the third Covid death to have been recorded in Shetland this year.
One further case of coronavirus in Shetland has also been confirmed. There are currently two people with Covid in the Gilbert Bain Hospital and both have been described as being “stable”.
A spokeswoman for NHS Shetland added that for patient confidentiality reasons the health board was unable to say whether or not these patients were from the new Yell cluster.
Earlier today NHS Shetland reminded folk not to visit other people’s households.
The health board said that most of the latest transmissions have occurred within families across numerous households.
