Marine / Yachts depart for Norway after Amaryllis wins prize

Sporting their new scarves before heading to Bergen is skipper Inge André Utåker (second from right) and his crew.

THE YACHTS taking part in the Bergen-Shetland race have headed east for the return journey after the Amaryllis bagged the top prize in the first leg.

The yacht’s crew received their award at a reception in Mareel in Lerwick on Friday.

They were also given scarves from local knitwear designer BAKKA for their efforts before they headed back to Norway.

The Asiss was the first over the finishing line, but the Amaryllis won the overall prize as well as coming first in its class.
