WORK to build Lerwick’s £7.6 million new fish market got under way this week, when representative from Lerwick Port Authority, project managers Arch Henderson and civil engineering firm Tulloch Developments met at Mair’s Quay to break the ground.
The 1,600 square metre replacement of the existing fish market is set to be completed by early 2020. The multi million pounds project is supported by the European maritime and Fisheries Fund (£1.73 million) and Highlands and islands Enterprise (£500,000).
