News / Linga’s back

MV Linga

THE WHALSAY ferry Linga is back in service after being out of action throughout Friday morning due to an electrical fault.

Shetland Islands Council said the ferry was taken off service at 7am after the fault affected the vessel’s propulsion system.

She returned to service sailing from Symbister at 12.45pm after council engineers fixed the fault.

The second ferry Hendra continued operating and the Skerries ferry Filla was brought in to provide an extra lunchtime sailing at 12 noon.

An SIC spokesman apologised for the disruption.
