FOUR crew on board a 10 metre west side creel boat were towed to safety on Saturday morning by the Aith lifeboat Charles Lidbury.

The Lerwick-registered Ivy Leaf was on passage from West Burrafirth to Sand when her engine overheated at the back of Vaila and she started drifting ashore.

The volunteer Aith lifeboat crew were called out shortly before 8am, reaching the vessel an hour later.

A line was attached and the Ivy Leaf was towed to the Sand Voe pier.

The lifeboat made it back to base at Aith by midday.
