News / Shetland gets Rural Priority money
TWENTY one projects throughout Shetland are to benefit from just over £750,000 of Rural Priorities funding, the Scottish government said on Monday.
The funding is part of a national package worth £30.5 million towards 573 “agri-environment” projects.
The Scottish government was unable to give a further breakdown of the projects supported in Shetland.
Rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead said: “The £30.5 million of Rural Priorities funding awarded will allow crofts and farm businesses across the country to take practical steps to help combat climate change, protect biodiversity and enhance our unique rural landscape.
