News / Police seize replica handgun
POLICE in Shetland issued a warning last night after a replica handgun was seized from a teenager in Lerwick town centre on Thursday afternoon.
Acting sergeant Stuart Miller said anyone thinking of purchasing replica firearms should consider the possible consequences of being found in possession of such items in public.
“These items can cause alarm and distress to members of the public,” he said. A report on the 18 year old man is being sent to the procurator fiscal.
Meanwhile, Lerwick police are calling for witnesses to come forward after damage was caused to a rear window of a house in Gilbertson Road, in Lerwick, on Thursday evening at about 7.30pm.
