Musselburgh challenge awaits Shetland in Scottish Cup
SHETLAND’S women footballers will travel to the Central Belt later this month after being drawn to face Musselburgh Windsor in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
The blues were drawn away to the side, who are located outside of Edinburgh, for the first round proper of the cup competition on Monday night.
The two sides will meet on Sunday 20 September.
It means another long away trip for the side, who created history by overcoming Aberdeen West End 3-1 on Sunday to go further in the Scottish Cup than ever before.
They had already beat Stewarton Annick 3-0 in Lerwick in the previous preliminary round before Sunday’s success.
Next up for the blues is another away trip this weekend, this time to try to retain their Highlands and Islands League Cup crown.
They head south on Sunday to face Caithness Ladies in the final in Elgin, with a 2.30pm kick-off as Shetland look to go back-to-back in the competition.
