Letters / Help to find possible historic socialist

Sometime in the 1940s Peter Jamieson, founding editor of the New Shetlander, speculated about who might have been present at a meeting in Lerwick in 1905 to start up a branch of a socialist party.

At the very top of Peter’s list is Tom Jamieson from Gluss, ‘a hand on a herring boat’. Tom (1871-1955) is not well-remembered today, but he was a pioneer self-taught Marxist in Shetland at the time.

Later on in the list is ‘James Sinclair (Lunnasting, a hand on a herring boat – same boat as Tom Jeemson was in)’.

I wonder if anyone might know or guess exactly who this James Sinclair might have been? I would be very grateful to hear.
