Transport / More ferry disruption on Yell Sound
THE YELL Sound ferry service will again be reduced to a single vessel tomorrow (Friday) due to crew shortages – as well during the next working week.
It will run to the shift timetable on Friday, with all bookings will be suspended. Crew will endeavour to put in extra runs wherever possible.
It comes after a single vessel service ran on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
A single vessel, running to the shift timetable, will also operate from Monday 9 October to Friday 13 October.
All bookings will be suspended and crew will put in extra runs wherever possible.
Shetland Islands Council says it would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience.

Journalism comes at a price and because that price is not being paid in today’s rapidly changing media world, most publishers - national and local - struggle financially despite very healthy audience figures.
Most online publishers have started charging for access to their websites, others have chosen a different route. Shetland News currently has over 600 supporters who are all making small voluntary financial contributions. All funds go towards covering our cost and improving the service further.
